The Plaque unveiling Ceremony took place
The State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak laid the foundation stone of Sheikh Hasina Institute of Frontier Technology (SHIFT) along with Chief Whip of Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad Noor-e-Alam Chowdhury, local Member of Parliament. On Wednesday morning, the State Minister inaugurated this project to create future-oriented human resources by flying pigeons and planting trees in Keshabpur of Qutubpur Union of Shibchar, Madaripur.
Prime Minister’s Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman, Member of Parliament Kazi Nabil Ahmed, Hi-tech Park Authority Managing Director Bikarna Kumar Ghosh, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rahima Khatun, SHIFT Project Director Syed Zahurul Islam (Joint Secretary) and others were present.
The ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak unveiled the foundation stone plaque and said, we are creating this innovative technology park for a lifelong learning and coordination between educational institutions, industrial institutions and the government to create smart citizens who are needed to build a smart Bangladesh by 2041. Future Microsoft, Google founders will be developing from here. A 41 storey Vision 241 Tower will also be established. 20 acres of land has been reserved for this purpose.
Expressing optimism, the state minister also said that the SHIFT will be Bangladesh’s MIT. This project is to prepare the future generation of Bangladesh to lead the fourth industrial revolution. Smart leaders of smart Bangladesh will be created from here.
Palak said, the main pillars of Smart Bangladesh are Smart Citizen, Smart Economy, Smart Government and Smart Society. Through this, we will form the modern version of the golden Bangla of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the modern version of the honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s cost-effective, sustainable, intelligent, knowledge-based, technology-dependent, advanced economy run smart Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, Noor Alam Chowdhury said, Padma Bridge is a symbol of our economic liberation. Behind this SHIFT, we are going to set up the largest Mujib Center in Asia. Also today we will inaugurate the project of Smart Shibchar.
Earlier, Bikarna Kumar Ghosh, Managing Director of Hi-Tech Park Authority said, “Learning by doing” or “experiential learning” is given utmost importance to the country’s learning community-based innovation culture in Shibchar upazila of Madaripur district, right next to the Padma Bridge of our dream. SHIFT will be established as the first zero waste and environmentally sustainable campus. In order to prepare our talents, Sheikh Hasina Institute of Frontier Technology- SHIFT will focus on Biotechnology, Nanotechnology, Neurotechnology, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Robotics Block Chain, Data Science, Hyper Automation, Technological Ethics, and Behavior; and Experience Engineering and Innovation and Entrepreneurship is one of them.
Project Director Syed Zahurul Islam (Joint Secretary) said that six-storey research building, four-storey academic building, three-storey administrative building, dormitory building for teachers and students, six specialized lab are the main infrastructure of SHIFT under construction. The SHIFT is planned as an academic role model for the future technological world. In order to develop leadership skills among all students, it is compulsory to conduct a class annually on any subject of one’s choice. Ergonomic furniture and tools similar to Verb and Node classroom technology have been arranged to ensure an active learning environment.
