In finance, “unicorn” is a term that describes a privately-owned startup with a valuation of over $1 billion. The ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak has expressed the hope of creating 3 million more jobs in the ICT sector by 2025, 5 billion equivalent export earnings and transforming 5 companies from startups into 1 billion dollar companies.
The state minister also said that the ICT Division has undertaken a long-term plan to build smart citizens, smart economy, smart governance and smart society.
ICT State Minister told the Parliament that a short-term goal has been set by the ICT department as the initial step to implement the vision of a modern, cost-effective, intelligent, knowledge-based, innovative, smart Bangladesh by 2041.
He said that after the implementation of the Digital Bangladesh vision, Sheikh Hasina, with the inspiration of Sajeeb Wazed Joy, gave the vision of an advanced, modern, affordable, intelligent, knowledge-based, innovative smart Bangladesh to our young generation by the year 41. We want to develop the four pillars strongly to create that smart Bangladesh.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was present in Parliament during the presentation of the statement on the President’s speech under the direction of Speaker Shirin Sharmin.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that besides making the country a ‘Smart Bangladesh’ by 2041, every village will be converted into a city. The Prime Minister said, Smart Bangladesh will be based on smart citizens, smart economy, smart government and smart society. In addition to increasing the purchasing power of the people of Bangladesh, the production of digital devices and the expansion of the device’s own market will be expanded by finding new foreign markets for the products.
