The Great Victory Day 2022 has been celebrated in the Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) with various programs including laying wreaths at the victory monument in Manihar, Jashore city, laying wreaths at the mural of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, praying for the forgiveness of the souls of the martyrs at the central mosque of the university.
The Victory Day program started today on Friday at JUST with the hoisting of the national flag at the sunrise and the university flag in front of the university administration building.
On the occasion of the Great Victory Day at 9 in the morning, a Senior Professor Dr. Md. Anishur Rahman, on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor of JUST Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain offered floral wreaths at the victory monument in Manihar, Jashore. Later, the JUST Branch Chhatra League also laid wreaths at the Victory Monument. After that, from the main gate of the collectorate building, on behalf of the JUST Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain, he laid a wreath at the mural of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Bakultala in Jashore city.
After the procession, in front of the University Academic Building, the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain said, we have to compensate the martyr’s blood. A country which cannot repay the blood of martyrs can never achieve its goal of independence. Bangladesh is the only country in the world, where victory has been achieved at the cost of so much blood. So let us all establish democracy in this country, build a hunger and poverty free society. Hopefully, all members of the Jashore Science and Technology University family will work together to implement Vision-2031 and Vision-2041 adopted by the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
In the central mosque of the university, special prayers were offered for the departed souls of all the martyrs who died in achieving the great victory of Bangladesh. Prayers were conducted by the senior Imam of JUST Central Mosque Maulana Md. Akramul Islam. Apart from this, on the occasion of Great Victory Day, students were also served impproved food in two halls of the university.
In these day-long programs, the treasurer of JUST Prof. Md. Abdul Majid, member of the Board of Regents, Prof. Dr. Md. Iqbal Kabir Zahid, Professor Dr. Syed Md. Ghalib, Dr. Md. Mehdi Hasan, convener of Dean’s Committee Professor Dr. H. M. Zakir Hossain, Dean Professor Dr. Saibur Rahman Molla, Dr. Md. Tanvir Islam, Dr. Md. Abdullah Al Mamun, Dr. Md. Hafiz Uddin, Registrar Engineer. Ahsan Habib, Director of Student Counseling and Guidance Department. Md. Alam Hossain, general secretary of the teachers’ association. Md. Ashrafuzzaman Zahid, president of JUST Chhatra League Md. Sohail Rana, General Secretary Tanveer Faisal and students of various departments were also present. Apart from them, various department chairmen, department heads, teachers-students, officials-employees of JUST were present in the programs.
