State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak said that Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, following the principles of her father, ensured the health services of the people of the country through technology and special facilities in the country. He has taken this service to people’s doorstep through technology facilities. Now people can take the advice of expert doctors very easily by taking advantage of telemedicine. We have taken medical care closer to people by organizing medical camps from time to time.
The minister expressed this information while addressing the inaugural function of the free eye camp organized by Al Bashar International Foundation at Singra Gol-e-Afroz Government College ground in his constituency on Friday.
At the end of his speech, the local MP and the State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak had a courtesy call and exchange of views with the people who came to the camp and inspected the treatment programs of the doctors.
He said, Bangabandhu realized the right of the people of the country to get health services 50 years ago. So he included the right to five fundamental rights including health in the constitution. Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s heart was filled with the welfare of the people of the country. Bangabandhu, with his foresight ensured people’s right to food, clothing, shelter, education and medical care. He ensured people’s prosperity and beautiful life by creating opportunities to get these rights.
Palak said, Singra Upazila Health Complex did not have an ambulance in the last 20 years, but three modern ambulances have been provided to this hospital in the last 13 years. As many as three thousand patients have registered in today’s camp. Even if it is night, everyone will be given free treatment as well as necessary medicine. If some need cataract surgery, it will also be done. Even if it needs to be taken in Rajshahi or Dhaka if not in Singra, it will be done.
Addressing the elderly patients present, the state minister said, I could have served if my father was alive. I didn’t get that chance. I see my father’s face in your face. I have dedicated myself to your service. You will pray for me, so that I may devote myself to your service forever. We will not only build advanced modern Singra but also build it as a humane Singra.
Country Director of Al Bashar International Foundation Dr. Ahmed Tahir Hamid and member of the foundation Dr. Salman, the second secretary of the National Board of Revenue Md. Golam Kibria delivered their speeches. Apart from Singra Mayor Md. Jannatul Ferdous, local representatives and doctors were also present in the program.
The state minister promised to provide land for camp promoters Al Bashar International Foundation if they want to build a permanent eye hospital in Singra.
