Africa’s highest mountain Kilimanjaro is coming under the coverage of high speed broadband internet connection. The Tanzanian government has said that the broadband connection will reach the top of the mountain within this year. News Guardian.
According to the news, on August 16, the Tanzania Telecommunication Corporation launched a broadband connection at the height of 3,720 meters of the mountain.
At the inauguration ceremony of broadband connection on Kilimanjaro, Information Minister Nape Nauye said that all mountaineers will now have internet connection even at a height of about 4,000 meters.
It is reported that the Tanzanian government has taken the initiative to provide broadband connection in the mountains so that climbers can instantly share their mountain climbing experience by tweeting, posting on Instagram or communicating with their loved ones through WhatsApp. By the end of this year, the broadband connection will also be reached at the top of the mountain at a height of 5,895 meters.
