Grameenphone (GP), the top mobile operator of Bangladesh, has doubled the minimum recharge (flexiload) limit at the customer level after the regulator banned selling new SIMs. By sending an SMS to the customers, the operator informed that from now on, no less than Tk. 20 can be recharged.
That means, Grameenphone was the first Bangladeshi telecom operator to set a minimum mobile recharge limit of Tk. 20. Earlier, the minimum recharge limit for Grameenphone subscribers was Tk. 10.
From Friday (July 1), the telecom operator has started informing the customers through SMS. They will deliver this message to all the customers in phases.
According to Grameenphone’s SMS, customers will not be allowed to recharge less than Tk. 20 from now on. However, you can still buy the minute packages of Tk. 16 and Tk. 14. Apart from this, you can also avail the special call rate facility for two days and three days on any local number by recharging Tk. 21 and Tk. 29.
Marginal subscribers term the Grameenphone’s decision as bad news. However, there is no ban on the use of scratch cards or bundle minute packs worth less than Tk. 20 in the market. In this case, you have been given the opportunity to get 30 days validity by flexloading only 20 Taka.
