Player Unknown’s Battleground or PUBG game is one of the most popular games of the time. Some Bangladeshi teams are also doing well in this global tournament of PUBG Games. These teams were formed on the individual initiative of the players. They now are participating regularly in big tournaments as well.
These internet-based games are called e-sports. These tournaments are held online instead of on the field.
Taking part in this online game sitting at home in Corona Lockdown, this time Bangladeshi team ‘1952’ has come up to the 6th position out of the 9 teams selected for the global competition from the top 16 teams of the PUBG Mobile Pro League South Asia-PMPL regional stage.
This team of six teenagers with a love for mother-tongue is dreaming now of world victory. The team ‘1952’ played 24 matches in 4 days in the South Asian Regional Final which started on April 15.
The members of this group received a prize of one thousand dollars by winning a ‘Chicken Dinner’ on Sunday night. The founder of the team is Kazi Arafat Hossain. Under the supervision of team manager Nafis, the tam 1952 showed great performances in the tournament.
The other members of the team are 1. Magnet (Raduan Hossain Siam) 2. Entry (Rajit Ahmed Khan) 3. Towfik (Towfik Sikder) 4. Sharp’x (Roudro Mukherjee) 5. C’minor (Refatul Islam) and 6. One shot (Siyam Shahriar)
Earlier, the top 20 teams from Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Mongolia participated in the group stage. From there, the top 16 teams secured their places in the final. Among them, there were three teams of Bangladesh: A One Sports, Venom Legends and another team of A-One Sports 1952. Apart from 3 teams from Bangladesh, 3 teams from Pakistan, 2 teams from Mongolia and 6 teams from Nepal competed in the final match of the South Asian Regional tournament. Although Mongolia is not a South Asian country, it participated as a ‘Wild Card’.
1952 will fight in the final to be held on 13-16 May. Last year’s champion Nepal along with 6 rival teams will also be Bangladesh’s opponent this time.
The prize pool of the tournament has been set at one and a half lakh dollars or more than 16 million taka. In other words, after winning the tournament, the members of the 1952 team will become millionaires.
