Bangladesh Computer Council’s BGD e-GOV CERT gave simulation exercise to 64 cyber army of the country’s 32 critical infrastructure maintenance organizations for three days to keep the security of their cyber borders intact. Prannoy Verma, Indian Ambassador to Bangladesh observed the exercise held at the BCC conference center on the concluding day of the exercise on Wednesday morning.
While speaking as the Chief Guest at the event, the ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak said that the Bangladesh-India Digital Service Employment Training Center will be inaugurated this month. Through these six centres, 24,000 fresh graduates will be taught about cutting edge technology.
The state minister also said that no person, institution or country can claim to be safe in the cyber world. So we are working to train and create awareness about cyber security among students and citizens. By developing modern technologies and tools, we are trying to keep the country’s cyberspace safe by partnering with other countries and organizations. The programme was moderated by EDGE project consultant Hasan Benaul.
Emphasizing the importance of training like cyber simulation exercises, the minister said that it is not possible to build a digital economy without skilled human resources. That’s why we have provided training to 32 thousand students who have obtained member graduation in IT through Ernst & Young in India. We are grateful for the cooperation of the Government of India and Indian institutions in this capacity building. Their cooperation is a unique sign of friendship in the world. Our genuine friendship will continue in the future.
The BCC executive director Ranjit Kumar presided over the event while Md. Shamsul Arefin, secretary of ICT Division was present as a special guest.
The exercise was conducted by the India CI Cyber Team under the Cyber Alliance under the Council’s Enhancing Digital Government and Economy (EDGE) project. The training was led by CERT-India Operations Director SS Sharma and consisted of the agency’s senior scientist Ashutosh Bahuguna, scientists Gaurav Pathak, Shashank Gupta and Abhishek Solanki. SS Sharma spoke among them. At the end of the ceremony, the crests and certificates were handed over to the participants.
Mohammad Kamruzzaman, Director General of Digital Security Agency and Saiful Islam, Project Director of BGD e-GOV CERT and others were present in the event.
