Foxconn, one of Apple’s suppliers, plans to double its workforce and investment in India over the next year. Reuters reported this news citing an executive of the company.
The Taiwan-based Foxconn is the world’s largest electronics supplier. The company is gradually expanding its reach in India after moving out of China. In line with this, it is investing in increasing production capacity in the southern region of India.
In a LinkedIn post, Foxconn’s representative in India V Lee wished Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 73rd birthday and said that Foxconn plans to double its workforce, investment and business in India within the next year.
He didn’t say much though.
Foxconn already has an iPhone factory in Tamil Nadu, employing around 40,000 people.
