After 47 years, the Russian lunar probe ‘Luna 25’ started its voyage to the moon. Luna 25 was successfully launched on Friday from a location near Moscow.
Putin’s country’s lunar lander is supposed to land on the moon within ten to twelve days of launch. In the midst of the war in Ukraine, Russia started its voyage to the moon to send a message to the world that Russia is not standing still.
Russia has sent a robotic lander to the moon’s south-pole to search for water and ice. If all goes well, Russia’s Luna will land on the moon a couple of days before India’s Chandrayaan.
On August 16, the Russian lunar probe ‘Luna 25’ will enter the orbit of the moon. Then on August 21 it is supposed to land on the moon. However, it is also believed that India’s Chandrayaan 3 and Russia’s Luna 25 will land on the moon on August 23. However, everything depends on the technical aspects of Luna 25 after it reaches lunar orbit.
Russia’s lunar rover will travel 100 kilometers (62 miles) for three to seven days before reaching the moon’s surface. ‘Luna 25’ has the ability to reach the moon within five and a half days of entering its orbit. While India’s ‘Chandrayaan 3’ crossed the moon’s target on July 14, ISRO’s spacecraft entered the moon’s orbit on August 5.
Where India’s Chandrayaan can land on the moon on August 23. Russia’s ‘Luna’ is landing on the moon within a week. A year before the invasion of Ukraine, Russia had prepared Luna 25 to go to the moon. But Putin withdrew from the space mission because of the war. But after being pressured by the war in Ukraine, President Putin chose the moon landing to spread the roar of Russia’s return to the world.
In 1976, the Russian (then Soviet Union) lunar probe went to the moon for the last time. The Soviet government of Russia canceled all missions to the moon, thinking that there was no hope of getting anything from the moon. But Putin’s country is encouraged again with the moon.
