The West African country of Senegal has temporarily banned TikTok, a social media platform based on short videos. The Minister of Communications of the country imposed this ban on Wednesday due to political instability. News Reuters.
In a statement, the country’s communications minister said that various content on TikTok is being spread for malicious purposes. The hate speech in these videos is creating an unstable situation in the country. Therefore, social media app TikTok will be suspended in the country until further orders.
Meanwhile, the government has restricted the use of mobile internet since last Monday to prevent opposition protests. Then the country’s government decided to ban TikTok on Wednesday.
