Annual Performance Agreement (APA) was signed for the fiscal year 2023-2024 with the Information and Communication Technology Division and 7 departments and organizations under it with the aim of implementing the vision 2041 by ensuring transparency, accountability, good governance integration, development of institutional capacity and proper utilization of resources.
The heads of the organizations/departments signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations in the meeting room of the Information and Communication Technology Division of ICT Tower in Agargaon on Wednesday. The organizations are: Bangladesh Computer Council, Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority, Directorate of Information and Communication Technology, Controller of Certifying Authorities, Digital Security Agency, Bangladesh Data Center Company Limited (BDCCL) and Startup Bangladesh Limited.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak was virtually connected as the chief guest at the event.
The Secretary of ICT Division Md. Samsul Arefin presided over the meeting while Bangladesh Computer Council Executive Director Ranjit Kumar, Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority Managing Director Mohammad Rezaul Karim, ICT Directorate Director General Md. Mostafa Kamal, CCA Controller Md. Ataur Rahman Khan, Digital Security Agency Director General Abu Saeed Md. Kamruzzaman, Bangladesh Data Center Company Limited Managing Director Zohra Begum and Startup Bangladesh Limited Managing Director Sami Ahmed and other senior officials were present in the event.
While speaking as the chief guest, the ICT State Minister said that we have been able to implement Digital Bangladesh by 2021. Now our aim is to build a cost-effective, sustainable, intelligent, knowledge-based, innovative Smart Bangladesh based on the four main pillars of Smart Citizen, Smart Economy, Smart Government and Smart Society by 2041 announced by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He told the officials that to make the dream of People’s Leader Sheikh Hasina Smart Bangladesh a reality, they have to fulfill the duties assigned according to the annual performance agreement.
It may be noted that according to the APA agreement, at the end of the financial year, the actual achievements of the relevant ministries and departments are evaluated against the targets set in the agreement. Marks are awarded according to target achievement.
