The 44th National Science and Technology Week concluded with colorful events and competitions. Organized by the National Museum of Science and Technology, Olympiad, quiz, science drama and various innovative project exhibitions were held at the Science Complex in Agargaon, in the capital city.
More than 600 contestants from 64 districts of the country participated in the central competition for the last 3 (three) days. Students, young scientists, inventors, teachers and parents were walking around the National Science and Technology Complex building.
The Science and Technology Minister Architect Yeafesh Osman was the chief guest at the closing and prize distribution ceremony on Wednesday (June 21). At the time, he said, “Not only the project exhibition, but the scientists or inventors behind the project need skill, competence and integrity. The present young generation has to take up strong challenges for the continuous change of science in the future. “
The Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology Ziaul Hassan (NDC), former Vice Chancellor of BUET Dr. Nazrul Islam and Science Popularization Society Vice President Munir Hasan were present at the ceremony.
Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology Ziaul Hasan (NDC) said “Science and technology are one of the means to implement the current government’s Vision 2041.”
Dr. Nazrul Islam said, “There will be rapid changes in the world of science. The current backdrop will change and the fourth industrial revolution will take place.”
Mohammad Munir Chowdhury, Director General of National Museum of Science and Technology, said, “We need to develop projects that are flexible, cost-effective and practical to meet various challenges. Being a doctor, researcher or scientist alone is not the meaning of life, one must be established as an honest and moral person.”
A total of 43 participants were given crests, certificates, prize bonds and cash incentives on the occasion.
