Bangladesh’s team of young innovators ‘Exo Max’ has been placed in the top five in the final competition of the NASA Conrad Challenge. India’s team from Bangalore finished fourth in the competition and the team from the United States came third.
And the highest honor went to the Conrad Scholar team from UK and China and the Power Pitch Award for the best presentation was won by the Bulgarian youth team.
On Friday evening Bangladesh time, three members of the Bangladesh team Md Twa-Seen, Mahdi Bin Ferdous and Sanjeem Hossain took part in the pitching held at the Houston compound of the American space research agency NASA leaving two members at home for visa cancellation. The team was a bit nervous during the 8-minute pitch due to visa-flight complications. The three young men still had a good fight with the new mentor Salman Promon on their technical solutions for safe roads. However, the team consisting of young people from the United Kingdom and China became the Pete Conrad Scholar with the drone project capable of detecting wild fire, which is the topic of discussion for the judges.
In that sense, no single country could become the champion this time. The final result was announced on Saturday around 8:30 am Bangladesh time.
