Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) has conducted the pre-selection examination for admission to the undergraduate class for the academic year 2022-2023. The exam was held on Saturday (May 20) at BUET Campus. The test were hwld in two shifts.
The BUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Satya Prasad Majumder accompanied by Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Abdul Jabbar Khan visited various centers during the examination. At that time, the President of the Admission Committees and the Dean of the faculty of Chemical and Materials StrategyDr. Mohammad Tamim, Director of Student Welfare Department Professor Dr. Md. Mizanur Rahman and other teachers of the university were present.
Out of the students who applied for today’s exam, 18 thousand 225 students got the opportunity to participate in the pre-selection exam. Among them 12 thousand 774 are male students and 5 thousand 451 are female students. In the pre-selection examination, 9 thousand 113 students in the first shift and 9 thousand 112 students sat for the test in the second shift. ThenPre-selection examination was conducted through MCQ type questions of 100 marks.
1st to 3000th students of each shift (including Module A and Module B) will be selected to participate in the Main Entrance Test based on the merit order of the pre-selection test results. A minimum of 12 candidates belonging to minority groups (subject to receiving sufficient applications) will be allowed to participate in the main entrance examination. The last date for publication of the list of eligible applicants for appearing in the Main Entrance Test is 27 May 2023. The list will be published on the university website. The main entrance exam will be held on June 10, 2023.
The Main Entrance Test will be conducted in written form of 2 hours duration. The examination will consist of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry for Module-A (‘A’ and ‘B’ groups) from 10 am to 12 pm and Freehand Drawing and Visual and Spatial Intelligence for Module-B (‘B’ group) from 2 pm to 3.30 pm.
Undergraduate students will be admitted in 13 departments under the faculties of Chemical and Materials Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Architecture and Planning. In this year’s admission examination, the number of candidates is 18 thousand 225 against a total of 1 thousand 309 seats, including a total of 3 reserved seats for the engineering departments and city and regional planning department and 1 reserved seat for the architecture department for the candidates belonging to minority caste groups of Chittagong Hill Tracts and other areas. The last date for publication of the list of selected and pending candidates for final admission is 26 June 2023.
