The Agriculture Minister Dr. Md. Abdur Razzak urged the leading Japanese agricultural machinery manufacturer Yanmar Agribusiness Authority to come forward in manufacturing smart agricultural technology based combined harvesters, tractors and transplanters in Bangladesh. He made this call while visiting from Tokyo to the company’s factory in Okayama’s Inami on Friday morning.
In response, the Yanmar President Masada San confirmed that they will soon initiate cooperation with their own smart agricultural technology in Bangladesh. At this time, he said, the feasibility test of setting up a factory in Bangladesh is going on. From next year, with the help of ACI, the production of combine harvester and rice transplanter is likely to be started in Bangladesh.
Before exchanging views with the top officials of the company, the Agriculture Minister visited the various agricultural machinery manufacturing activities there. He also, visited the Bio lab activities for research on specialized crops like mango, papaya, strawberry etc. in the greenhouse.
The Agriculture Minister called Yanmar to make agricultural machinery in Bangladesh. Md. Abdur Razzak said, Bangladesh’s agriculture is moving towards mechanization. In the days to come, the labor shortage will increase, at the same time the demand for agricultural machinery will also increase, creating a huge market. In Bangladesh, Yanmar agricultural machinery has a reputation and demand. Therefore, Yanmar may make a good profit if it invests in Bangladesh, sets up factories and manufactures agricultural machinery locally. Bangladesh has an investment friendly environment and the government will provide all possible support.
