Shahjalal University of Science and Technology- SUST is going to celebrate its foundation day on the first day of Falgun (as Bangla calendar), that is February 14th. The residential halls of the University open on the same day. And online classes will start from Tuesday, the next day.
The decision was taken at a syndicate meeting of the university on Sunday, the day after the students announced the suspension of the movement against the anomalies in the university, the public relations department said.
Earlier, after long 28 days, Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed, Vice-Chancellor of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) started working in his own office on Sunday. On the same day, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) Chhatra League handed over a 7-point memorandum including opening the academic activities to the Vice-Chancellor.
Meanwhile, the hall will be opened on Monday and all preparations are being made for the celebration of the founding anniversary of the university, said Registrar Muhammad Ishfaqul Hossain. “The residential halls will be opened on February 14. The next day, the online classes will start as usual and if there are no restrictions from the government, the activities in the classrooms will continue from February 22. There will be all kinds of activities as in previous years. These include flag hoisting, wreath-laying at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, joyous procession, cake cutting, etc.
