The Ministry of Commerce has extended the delivery time of e-commerce to prevent the transmission of coronavirus. In addition, the delivery company has to submit the list of restaurants associated with the e-commerce business to the concerned deputy commissioner.
The Ministry of Commerce has taken this decision in response to the application of E-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (E-Cab).
The new directive signed by Hafizur Rahman, Director General to the WTO cell of Ministry of Commerce states that e-commerce deliverymen will be able to operate normally from 8 am to 12 midnight. Which was up to 06.00 pm earlier as informed by e-cab.
The instructions further said that the deliveryman and the person engaged in the transportation of goods will be provided the necessary identity card for the vehicle by the companies concerned. For e-commerce delivery, e-commerce e-cab can provide an identity sticker or identity card with Logo and serial number for the deliveryman and the vehicle.
The kitchen of the restaurant affiliated with the e-commerce company will be open from 8 am to 10 pm, but the delivery man will not be allowed to enter the kitchen of the restaurant under any circumstances.
The guidelines further state that the Department of Health Services must deliver food in accordance with health guidelines. The E-Commerce Association of Bangladesh will provide its members with the necessary credentials and training and briefing on health rules accordingly.
