The canceled three-day period data package is being back again(?) The president of Bangladesh Mobile Phone Consumers’ Association (BMPCA), conveyed this hint, although a source in BTRC said that the news is baseless.
On Tuesday, April 23, Md. Mohiuddin Ahmed, BMPCA president said, BTRC is taking customers’ opinions about mobile data packages. This is basically just a step back to the previous data package. It is basically a public survey. He said, 70 percent of customers want a three-day package back. And 30 percent customers want unlimited and different duration packages. BTRC wants to return to 3, 5, 7, 15 and 30 days and unlimited duration internet packages.
However, BTRC sources said on condition of anonymity, BTRC is not thinking anything about the three-day data pack for now.
Meanwhile, in a notification, BTRC said that in October 2023, ‘Mobile Phone Operators’ Data and Data Related Package Guidelines-2023′ has been formulated where the duration of data packages is set as 7 days, 30 days and unlimited respectively. The mobile operator is taking public opinion of the customers for their opinion on the data packs of different durations. All are requested to participate in the survey.
Survey analysis shows that 70 percent of customers want a three-day package. And 30 percent customers want unlimited and different duration packages. And as always, public opinion and operators’ views will be given importance, BTRC said.
Earlier, three- and 15-days mobile internet packages were stopped from October 15 last year.
