State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak held a virtual meeting on the implementation of the annual development program for the outgoing 2023-24 financial year of the two ministries. According to the meeting held on Monday, there has been 48.13 percent progress in the implementation of annual projects in the Department of Posts and Telecommunications and 49.18 percent in the Information and Communication Technology Division. That is, more than 51 percent of the work has to be implemented in the remaining quarter of the financial year.
First, he attended the meeting held at Bangladesh Secretariat’s Posts and Telecommunications Department. After that, the state minister attended the meeting held at the ICT Tower. In both the meetings, Zunaid Ahmed Palak gave various directions by urging the implementation of the project within the stipulated time regarding the implementation of ADB.
In the meeting, Posts and Telecommunications Secretary Abu Hena Morshed Zaman highlighted the progress of 12 projects of the Posts and Telecommunications Department from July last year to March this year. National progress of 27.11 percent in the project of allocation of 2 lakh 74 thousand 674 taka of national allocation and 1 thousand 503 crore of RADP till January. And the progress of postal and telecommunication department is 48.13 percent till March.
Teletalk Managing Director AKM Habibur Rahman, BTCL Managing Director Md Anwar Hossain, Directorate General of Telecommunication Md Sahab Uddin and related project officers were present in the meeting. After the meeting of Post and Telecommunication Department, State Minister Palak spoke about the progress of 26 projects under implementation of RADP allocation of 1 thousand 967 crore 19 lakh taka of Information and Communication Technology Division. The project officials highlighted the progress of the project in the meeting chaired by the secretary of the ICTD, Md. Shamsul Arefin. It was informed in the meeting that the progress in the project of 2 lakh 74 thousand 674 crores of national allocation till February was 31.17 percent. At the same time, the ICT Division has made 49.18 percent progress in the project worth Tk 1,027 crore. Also, in one self-financed SOF project and 1 program, 54.92 per cent progress has been made in the Tk 1,800 crore project and 50.80 per cent progress in the Tk 645 crore project till March.
