Mobile operator Robi’s data speed has increased by 130 percent and voice quality by 50 percent in the last one year. The operator claims to have doubled its data speed by strengthening the network.
By reforming the spectrum, the company has significantly improved the voice and data experience compared to 2022 by realigning the use of available spectrum for 2G, 3G, and 4G technologies, informed Robi in a press release on Monday. More than 1,000 sites were added in 2023, ensuring the highest 4G coverage (98.8%).
Robi Chief Commercial Officer Shihab Ahmad said, “In 2023, we laid the foundation of Smart Network to advance Smart Bangladesh Vision. As a result, Robi’s focus has gone beyond traditional connectivity services to facilitate digital lifestyles and enhance everyday experiences. It is driving Robi’s extensive 4.5G supernet as a leading digital brand in line with Robi’s brand slogan ‘Parbe Tumi O’- You too can do.
Robi has also deployed L2600 Spectrum to optimize network capacity for handling growing data traffic. This has resulted in improved customer data experience. Simultaneously AI-based software and machine learning tools are deployed to further enhance Robi’s network, optimize traffic load and enrich the customer experience in voice and data, informed Robi.
Robi’s call drop rate is well below the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) recognized call drop of just zero.3 percent.
