A memorandum of understanding has been signed in New York between the Bangladesh Film Archive and the renowned US visual media company Getty Images to collect and preserve audio visual documents related to the Liberation War and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
On behalf of Bangladesh Film Archive, Director of the project ‘Collecting and preserving audio visual documents of the Liberation War from domestic and foreign sources and increasing the capacity of Bangladesh Film Archive’. Md. Mofakharul Iqbal and the company’s Asia Pacific TV and Sales Director Aran Barcheno signed the MoU on behalf of Getty Images.
The MoU was signed at the office of Getty Images in the presence of Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Md. Humayun Kabir Khondkar. The United Nations Permanent Mission of Bangladesh in New York conveyed this information on Monday (April 8). At that time, the officials of the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington DC and the Bangladesh Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York were present.
Before this, a discussion was held with the senior secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Md. Humayun Kabir Khondkar and senior officials of Getty Images. On the same day, the senior secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Md. Humayun Kabir Khondkar visited the Permanent Mission of Bangladesh to the United Nations in New York.
