The first batch of post graduate course of Diploma in Cyber Security course has started at Police Staff College Bangladesh located in Mirpur from Saturday, March 23. Police officers of various ranks are participating in this ten-month training course.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan inaugurated the course at the conference center of the university. He expressed hope that the course will increase the capacity of police officers.
The Home Minister said that new technologies are constantly expanding and developing. Building a technology-based police force to meet this challenge is the demand of the time. To meet that demand, the government is working to develop efficient police officers to deal with cybercrime. Hopefully, police officers who complete this course will be able to make a significant contribution in combating cybercrime.
He also said that the Post Graduate Diploma in Cyber Security course of Police Staff College will play a very important role in building the smart police directed by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to build the Sonar Bangla of Bangabandhu’s dream.
Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Bangladesh Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun said that due to the rapid spread of technology, there has been a great change in the type and nature of crime. Combating cybercrime has become a challenge for law enforcement agencies worldwide. Bangladesh Police has taken various steps to acquire the capability to prevent cybercrime. In this regard Post Graduate Diploma in Cyber Security course is a timely step.
Rector of Police Staff College (Additional IGP) Dr. Mallik Fakhrul Islam presided over the event while senior secretary of the public security department of the Ministry of Home Affairs Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Additional IGP (Administration) Md. Kamrul Ahsan and others were present at the event.
