Lands Minister Narayan Chandra Chanda said, we want to convert land services into smart services with everyone’s efforts. There will be no irregularities, harassment and no corruption in Smart Land Services. Our goal is to build a sustainable and smart land management system. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has announced a zero-tolerance policy for corruption in all sectors including land.
He expressed these matters while speaking as the chief guest at the workshop on land service digitization ‘180 days smart strategy’ at Khulna Deputy Commissioner’s conference room on Wednesday, February 28.
The minister said that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was vocal in establishing the land rights of ordinary citizens. Soon after the independence of the country, Bangabandhu took the initiative of land reform. Bangabandhu waived tax up to 25 bighas of land.
He said, the people who own the country, we have to work for the welfare of these people. Honesty, transparency and accountability must be ensured in all cases. All Tahshil Offices should be kept open to the public and there would be no brokers. We were able to make Bangladesh independent after nine months of war, why can’t we digitize land services?
Secretary of the Land Ministry Md. Khalilur Rahman and Additional Divisional Commissioner (Revenue) of Khulna Md. Feroze Shah spoke as special guests at the event.
Khulna Divisional Commissioner Md. Helal Mahmud Sharif presided over the workshop and Deputy Commissioner Khandakar Yasir Arefin delivered a welcome speech.
In the workshop, Muhammad Abdul Latif, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Lands, presented an article on the smart action plan of the Ministry of Lands in the construction of Smart Bangladesh, and Salim Ahmad, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Lands, presented an article on the obstacles and solution strategies in the implementation of smart services in Khulna Division.
Ministry of Lands and Khulna Divisional Commissioner’s office jointly organized this workshop.
Additional Deputy Commissioners (Revenue), Assistant Commissioners (Lands) of all upazilas of Khulna Division, Land Acquisition Officers and Land Assistant Officers participated in the workshop.
