The government has instructed to keep telephone, fax and internet connections active to get the results of the parliamentary elections quickly on the day of voting for the 12th national parliament election on January 7. This instruction was given in a special circular issued by the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Friday (December 22).
The circular said to appoint bold and impartial officers for polling; measures should be taken for not deploying biased persons as polling officers. At the same time, the Returning Officer has been asked to ensure transport and security arrangements for the members of the Electoral Inquiry Committee. At the same time, it is strictly forbidden to smoke in the polling station and to carry inflammable materials including lighters and the use of electric heaters or any type of stove inside the polling station is completely prohibited.
According to the circular, after polling and counting of votes, the presiding officers with the help of law-and-order forces will provide the counting statement and related documents from the polling station to the Assistant Returning Officer as soon as possible. Apart from this, the law-and-order forces have been instructed to use the vehicles of their respective organizations in the circular.
