Experimental electric vehicle charging station has been opened in Jashore. The station has been launched in a joint venture between Mulytic Energy Solutions Limited and West Zone Power Distribution Company Limited (WZPDCL), a leading provider of sustainable energy solutions.
Senior Secretary of Bangladesh Ministry of Electricity, Energy and Mineral Resources Md. Habibur Rahman inaugurated this station located in Khayertala area of the city by cutting the ribbon on Friday (December 22). Rahat Ahmed, Chief Operations Officer of Mulytic Energy, presented how the station will work through a multimedia presentation.
At this time, the Executive Director of WZPDCL, Engineer Md. Shamsul Alam, Project Director Md. Motiur Rahman and others were present.
While speaking as the chief guest, a Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Electricity, Energy and Mineral Resources Md. Habibur Rahman said, ‘There was no charging station outside Dhaka to charge electric vehicles. It was launched as a piloting (experimentally) joint venture between WZPDCL and Mulytic Company in Jashore. After that, maybe thousands of charging stations like petrol pumps will be started all over the country by private initiative. Bangladesh will enter a new era. At the moment the number of electric charging cars is very low. Hourly charging entry fee will be fixed so that entrepreneurs do not incur losses.
Mulytic Energy CEO Rubaiyat Islam Sadat said, ‘The opening of the first EV charging station in the region has opened up new possibilities. We are very happy and proud to partner with WZPDCL in this initiative. The expansion of electric vehicles will reduce carbon dioxide emissions into the air. At the same time, climate pollution will decrease. Which will play a very important role in maintaining the environment.’
At the end of the discussion, the method of charging the car was shown practically to the people who were present.
