The Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina participated in the election campaign virtually with the public of 5 districts from Dhaka district Awami League building in Tejgaon of the capital. The Awami League president addressed the public meetings at Panchagarh and Lalmonirhat districts of Rangpur division, Natore and Pabna districts of Rajshahi division and Khagrachhari district of Chattogram division on Thursday. The virtual meeting was conducted by the Minister of Information and Broadcasting Dr. Hasan Mahmud.
Sheikh Hasina, in her speech said that, she came to power to deliver the benefits of independence, the people will vote in the elections on January 7. The people own the vote, it is their constitutional right. Yes, we have made it open, we have candidates with the symbol boat, independent candidates and candidates from other parties.
Sheikh Hasina said, we want to make our Bangladesh corruption free. We want to establish balanced development. Because corruption harms the society more than anything else. (Through corruption) Some people suddenly get their fingers swollen into banana plants. Those who live honestly have a miserable life. That is why we will declare zero tolerance against corruption.
The head of government said that our goal is to build a society based on justice and equality without corruption, to make the economy based on justice and equality, and to improve the quality of life of people.
In all places where I cannot go physically, I will join the public meeting virtually, she added, “The boat is the tip of Noah the prophet.” The only means of danger. Boats are also needed for rescue in case of flood. And after winning the vote, I will build a smart Sonar Bangla.
State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak led a colorful rally at Natore on the occasion of Prime Minister’s virtual election rally. The rally was broadcast live on social media as usual. At the end of the rally, Palak gathered with local leaders at Sher-A Bangla School ground in Natore Sadar. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister asked the state minister in a jovial tone that ‘I did not get my Kachagolla’ yet. That time she aslo adressed Palak using a phrase ‘Digital Shaheb’. In her response, Palak stood up with smilung and said that he promised to give Kachagolla from four constituencies on January 7. Meanwhile, he introduced the candidates for other parliamentary seats in the district Md. Shahidul Islam Bakul, Dr. Siddiqur Rahman Patwari and Shafiqul Islam Shimul.
On the other hand, in the public meeting at Lalmonirhat College ground, the candidates nominated by Awami League with the electoral symbol ‘boat’ of the three parliamentary constituencies of the district were introduced by the Prime Minister in the presence of the leaders and activists of Awami League and allied organizations of the district and upazilas. Lalmonirhat-1 Constituency Awami League candidate Advocate Motiar Rahman spoke there.
Similarly, Sheikh Hasina interacted with the party candidates in public meetings held at Panchagarh Sugar Mill Ground, Khagrachari College Ground and Mukta Mancha in Pabna. After the opening speech, the party president exchanged views with the leaders and activists of these districts. Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, member of the presidium and co-chairman of the party’s election management committee Kazi Zafar Ullah, Jahangir Kabir Nanak, joint general secretary Hasan Mahmud and others were present at the Dhaka end.
In the public meeting held with the virtual participation of the Prime Minister, Pabna-5 boat candidate Golam Farooq Prince, Panchagarh-2 Member of Parliament Md. Nurul Islam Sujan and Khagrachari’s Kujendra Lal Tripura also spoke.
