In two days, 65 government officials visited various scientific exhibitions at the National Museum of Science and Technology-NMST located in the administrative area of the capital. On Thursday and last Monday, they also attended special seminars in addition to gaining experience.
Mohammad Munir Chowdhury, Director General of National Museum of Science and Technology, emphasized on making technology easily usable for uneducated, ignorant and unaware people in villages through information and communication technology for their purpose in the seminar. At the same time, he urged to be careful, so that the nature and environment are not damaged due to misuse of technology.
He also said, “It is not enough to have only talent, skill or knowledge in science; along with this, honesty, devotion and ethics are also essential. Lack of integrity has made many great technologies ineffective, or even fail. As a public servant, we have to improve the organization and facilitate the quality of service with our talent. Many talented youths are entering non-engineering professions as sub-registrars or even engineers without finding suitable jobs. Merit should be recognized and the meritorious should be given due status. If the greed for money enters at the beginning of a career, it will swallow itself like a python for the rest of its life. One should reach the quality of service to the people with innovative spirit and moral strength while keeping oneself free from greed of money. Proper application of technology in government offices will reduce the incidence of brokers, fraudsters or middlemen. If you are self-centered only with your own salary and benefits, you can never become a humanitarian officer, you must be aware of your responsibilities and perform your duties.”
