Nine Bangladeshis have been ranked in Forbes ’30 under 30 Asia’ this time. Among them, there are under 35 entrepreneurs with three apps and three more have joined with fintech technology solutions. Only one is in art.
Mehdi Saran has made it to this list of 30 exceptional young entrepreneurs who have contributed to various industries in the Asia-Pacific region with ‘HelloTask’, an app that hires domestic workers anytime within Dhaka. Mehdi Saran is the founder and CEO of Agrostart, an agritech startup. This young man who passed the top thirty in the consumer technology category is also the co-founder and chief operating officer of HelloTask. With him, the other founder of this initiative, Mahmudul Hasan Likhan, is serving as the chief executive. The organization has already received grants from the World Bank and Oxfam. Moreover, they have received investment from foreign investors. They are working towards entering the international market and aiming to add one lakh domestic workers to their platform by 2025.
Also, three more initiatives from Bangladesh with fintech and apps have made it to the influential Forbes magazine’s ninth edition of ‘Thirty Under Thirty Asia’. Meanwhile, Fahad Ahmed, co-founder of cross-border remittance service app ‘Wind.app’, has made it to the list in the finance and venture capital category. He has led various services of the organization in Bangladesh and Nepal. A self-taught coder, Fahad holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and economics from Dhaka University. His startup received $3.8 million in funding. With Fahad’s app, blockchain technology and stablecoins can be transacted faster and more affordably. This digital wallet app is co-founded by Hussain Ilyas. He is the former CEO of Bangladeshi ride sharing platform Pathao.
In the finance and venture capital category, Md. Shahidul Islam, Abdul Gaffar Sadi and Md. Tushar got a place in the list of the Forbes best young people. They are the founders of a Dhaka-based startup named ‘Drutoloan‘. This fintech app helps local micro, small and medium entrepreneurs to get loans easily by evaluating the documents. Since its inception in 2019, ‘Drutoloan’ has disbursed more than $2 million in loans and has raised $125,000 in funding so far.
Sultan Moni and Mumtahina Anika have made it to the Forbes 30 under 30 list in the Finance and Venture Capital category for Dhaka-based fintech platform ‘Jatik’. Sultan Moni and Mumatahina Anika help small companies protect their accounts by providing software and hardware solutions. Jatik recently raised $1.6 million in funding led by Deco E-show Venture Capital.
It may be worth noting that, 9 Bangladeshi youths have been selected in the 2024 ‘Forbes 30 under 30’ Asia category. They are – Mehdi Samran (Hello Task); Redwan Ahmed, founder and CEO of feature phone-based mobile payment platform Padishare; Md. Shahidul Islam, Abdul Ghaffar Saadi and MD Tushar (DrutoLoan); Fahad Ahmed (Wind App); Sultan Moni, Mumtahina Anika (Jatik); and Anusha Alamgir (Movie “Parda”). Anusha is the founder and CEO of an AI-powered education technology platform.
