To take part in the 12th National Assembly elections, Awami League aspirants has started collecting nomination forms both online and offline. Awami League launched an app called Smart Nomination App in this regard. The app was launched through buying a nomination form by the Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina form at the party’s central office on Bangabandhu Avenue on Saturday.
Then 1064 nomination forms were sold on the first day alone. Out of this, 1050 people collected the nomination form directly and 14 people collected it online. Among them, it has been reported that Bangladesh cricket team captain Shakib Al Hasan has collected candidate nomination papers for Magura-1, Magura-2 and Dhaka-10.
Awami League office secretary Barrister Biplab Barua said that on the first day, Awami League sold 213 party nomination forms in Dhaka Division, 198 in Chittagong Division, 55 in Sylhet Division, 105 in Mymensingh Division, 75 in Barisal Division, 125 in Khulna Division, 109 in Rangpur Division and 169 in Rajshahi Division. 5 crore 32 lakh taka has been earned from the sale of forms.
The app has to be downloaded and installed from Google Play Store or IOS App Store. Also online nomination form can be filled and submitted from nomination.albd.org website. For this, the candidate has to register his name first with the mobile number. After logging in and making the payment of Tk. 50,000 electronically, the nomination form can be filled and submitted.
From Awami League office, it has been informed that a candidate should collect and submit the nomination form by himself or through a qualified representative without any additional gathering of people. At the time of collecting the form, the candidate must bring the photocopy of the National Identity Card and the constituency, mobile number and organizational identity must be mentioned clearly on the photocopy.
In this case, many candidates find the online and app as additional benefits in buying nomination papers.
Awami League has informed that the sale of nomination forms will continue for the next four days (Tuesday). Forms can be collected and submitted daily from 10 am to 4 pm.
