Bangladesh Association of Contact Center and Outsourcing (BACCO) trained 90 freelancers from freelancing life to become entrepreneurs. They are trained in 6 batches under the auspices of Business Promotion Council (BPC).
On Saturday (November 11, 2023) afternoon, Md. Abdur Rahim Khan, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Honorable Coordinator of the Business Promotion Council, handed over the certificates to the trainees.
Speaking as the chief guest at the event, he said, “Anyone can become a freelancer. It is our responsibility to turn you into an entrepreneur. BACCO, BPC is always on the side of freelancers. In the future we are planning to bring such courses online, launch special training courses for women only.”
On the occasion, BACCO President Wahid Sharif said, “We are working to create skilled manpower to realize the dream of ‘Smart Bangladesh’ of the Bangladesh government. That is why we have this workshop to turn talented freelancers scattered in different parts of the country into entrepreneurs through appropriate training. From here, a freelancer gets the necessary guidance to become an entrepreneur, learn about the obstacles that may come in the way of starting a new venture, and learn how to overcome problems. We hope that many entrepreneurs from here will become entrepreneurs in the future, who will play a significant role in the economy of the country by earning foreign exchange and creating employment.”
In his welcome speech, BACCO General Secretary Touhid Hossain said, “Many freelancers have started their own ventures after being trained in our workshop. It is a matter of great pride and joy for us. Sincere thanks to all our supporters and sponsors Business Promotion Council. I also thank all the trainees, trainers, BACCO Executive Committee, Secretariat and all the supporting member institutions who participated in this training.”

For the development of the information and communication technology industry, BACCO first took the initiative of training workshop titled “Freelancer to Entrepreneur” in 2022 to bring the skills of freelancers under the institutional framework for the development of information and communication technology industry. Business Promotion Council (BPC) of the Ministry of Commerce is a partner in this initiative. Last time also 106 trainees received certificates from this training.
