The data of Boeing, the world’s largest air defense and aerospace contractor, was stolen. On Friday (Nov. 10), a hacker group called Lockbit threatened to steal Boeing’s data and release it unless a ransom was paid. News Reuters.
In October this year, the hacker group said they had stolen a large amount of sensitive data from the aerospace giant, threatening to release the sensitive data on the Internet if Boeing did not pay the ransom by November 2.
Meanwhile, Boeing has confirmed in a statement that some information related to the purchase and distribution of parts of the company has been exposed to cyber threats. The company said it is investigating the incident and is in contact with law enforcement and regulatory agencies.
The first hacking group Lockbit came to light in January 2020 in a Russian news outlet. Lockbit is known as the most professional and organized hacking group till date. CISA says the group has attempted to hack the websites of 1,700 US companies so far.
