For the first time in the country, a job fair for fresh graduates was held in the capital. The online job search company ‘BdJobs’ organized this fair to find employers for 2500 job seekers who have no previous work experience.
Thousands of job seekers thronged the Bashundhara International Conference Center at 10 am on Monday. However, about 30,000 job seekers registered even before the fair started. As the day progressed, there was no place left at all in the job fair. The 130 employers who participated in the fair had to struggle to handle the crowd of more than 50 thousand candidates. Online test started after 3 pm with CV. BdJobs founder CEO Fahim Mashroor said that those who passed the exam will be hired within the next month.
Group of companies such as Walton, Navana, Bashundhara, Pran, Akiz, Alif, BRAC, CNC, SGS and Asian participated in the day-long fair; Also top local brands in various sectors like Aarang, Ifad, Rupayan, RFL, IPDC, United Hospital, Snowtex, General Farma and Panjeri. About 25 companies like Agni, Mir Telecom, Fiber@home, E-Shikhan, Linkthree, Excel Technologies were from the IT sector among the employers who participated in the fair. The technology skills of the candidates have been prioritized in this event for the recruitment of about 450 posts, including marketing, accounts, compliance, nurses, chefs and deliverymen.
Apart from receiving CVs, useful seminars for the job of fresh graduates participating in the fair were also organized in the fair. BdJobs.com Director (Marketing) Prakash Roy Chowdhury said, CV writing tips, interview tips along with the necessary things for the job were told in the seminar.
