In the three-day Digital Bangladesh Fair, beyond VR and 5G technology, domestic innovation has caught the eye of everyone from visitors to observers. More than half a hundred inventions from various universities and startups of the country participated in the fair on a limited scale. Out of these, the best three inventions were awarded. In the overall evaluation, the invention of the students of University of Scholars Self Balancing Robot and Balancing Cube became first.
The head of the electrical and electronics engineering department of the university Shayek Md. Buland Taslim received the award along with Muhammad Ariful Haque Shuhan, the head of the inventor’s team. In addition to Sanjida Mushfique Nova, lecturer of the university, four other students of the same department were her collaborators in this research and innovation. They are Afran Hossain Reza, Mahfuzur Rahman Mitul, Ismail Sheikh Nayan and Abdullah Al Mutasim..
Sheayek Md. Buland Taslim told DigiBangla about their invention that the innovation was based on inverter pendulum physics. With this invention, they designed an application that allows a two-wheeled vehicle in motion to self-balance. The technology can also be used in airports.
The Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar presented the award to this inventor on Saturday night (January 27) at the closing ceremony of the fair at Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital.
In the ‘Digital Bangladesh Fair-2023’ organized by the Department of Posts and Telecommunications, an automatic electric car charging station has come second in the innovation category. The inventors are Arifa Akhtar, Mohammad Shahed Hossain, Md. Tauhidul Islam and Syed Ashfaqul Jami, who are studying electrical and electronics engineering at the American International University Bangladesh. They have been working on the idea of a hybrid charging station for eight months. The participated in the fair with a prototype project without adding some equipment.
Arifa, a member of the research team, said that this charging station is an environment-friendly and sustainable model. Taka 50 thousand was spent on making the model. And a car can be charged within 35 minutes from this charging station.
The innovation ‘Advisor Bangladesh’ project of students of the same university came third in innovation.
