Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) authorities have introduced the e-sign facility in the certificate as the first university in Bangladesh to facilitate the obtaining of academic certificates. As a result of this, SUST students will be able to collect their certificates from home.
On Friday (May 10) afternoon, Vice-Chancellor Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed inaugurated the certificate program with e-sign in the virtual class room of IICT building of the university.
Dean of the Applied Science Faculty of the University Dr. Reza Selim presided over the event. While the Director of IICT Prof. Dr. Zahirul Islam conducted the program. The Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University Dr. Kabir Hossain, Treasurer Professor Amina Parveen, Relief Validation Limited CEO Rashed Mahmood spoke as special guests. The Director of Examination Control Department Md. Mujibur Rahman gave a welcome speech on the occasion.
in the opening speech, the SUST Vice-Chancellor Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed said that, Shahjalal University is the first of many things in the country. In continuation of this, SUST has launched e-sign certificate as the first university. From now on, students can sit at home and take their certificates from anywhere in the world without any hassle. In addition, this certificate can be verified immediately by all universities visa issuing embassies and any authority in the world. No one will get a chance to create a fake certificate even if they want to.
The Vice-Chancellor also said that Shahjalal University is moving towards the goal of becoming 100% digital in building the smart Bangladesh of the Prime Minister’s dream. As a result, today’s groundbreaking initiative will play an important role for the country in addition to advancing this university.
Expressing his conviction to take the university forward, the Vice-Chancellor said that all activities of this university are now being conducted through D-documents. The university is also ranked second in APA ranking. Besides, distinguished professors have been appointed in the university to advance in the world ranking. I hope that Shahjalal University will come within the next one year.
Besides, Deans of various faculties of the university, leaders of teachers’ associations, student advisors, heads of various departments, proctors, hall provosts, heads of departments, teachers, officers and employees were present.
Shahjalal University has entered into an agreement with RVL, the country’s only digital certificate certifying authority, to issue e-sign certificates. Students can receive this certificate through the procedure indicated on the university website.
