Dhaka Road Transport Owners Association has announced the launch of e-ticketing for 711 more buses on Mohammadpur-Ajimpur and Gabtali routes. This service will be launched on Tuesday (January 10) by 15 company buses. The companies are – M/s Bhuiyan Enterprises, Swadhin Line Transport, Dewan Enterprises, Malncha Paribahan, Taranga Plus Transport Ltd., Alif Enterprises (1) (Route-A-141) Alif Enterprises, Abhinandan Transport Ltd., Bikash Paribahan, Gabtali Express Ltd. , Meghla Transport Co. Ltd., VIP Auto Mobiles Ltd. Ramzan Ali Enterprises Midline Transport Ltd. and Dream Transport Ltd.
The announcement was made by Khandkar Enayet Ullah, General Secretary of the association, at a press conference of the Dhaka Road Transport Owners Association at Eskaton in the capital on Monday (January 9).
He also mentioned the initiative to stop collecting extra fare in buses and said that he has given a total of 21 circulars at various times. Formed 9 vigilance teams and performed duty on the streets for months and I myself was in the field.
Khandkar Enayet Ullah said, we have discussed with the owners and decided to provide e-ticketing machine inside the bus. Experimentally, on September 22, 8 transport companies based in Mirpur and on November 13, 22 transport companies including 30 companies have introduced e-ticketing system in 13 thousand 643 buses. E-ticketing system has been implemented in 70 percent to 75 percent buses of the mentioned 30 companies. Three vigilance teams of Dhaka Road Transport Owners Association are conducting daily activities to enforce the rest of the vehicles. Special checkers appointed by the association are monitoring the road daily. Corporate action is being taken against vehicles that are not yet within the norms.
He said that the complaint of the passengers is based on the distance in KM on the e-ticketing system is not mentioned. We have requested BRTA to prepare the chart. When the fare chart is generated we will add KM to the device, he mentioned.
