bKash has recently organized a two-day coordination workshop in collaboration with Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) as part of a series of awareness programs to prevent the use of important and essential services like Mobile Financial Services (MFS) in criminal activities. On the first day, 120 bKash agents, channel partners and policemen of Khulna district participated in the ‘coordination workshop to prevent abuse of mobile financial services’ at Hotel DS Palace in Khulna. On the second day at City Inn Hotel, Khulna, a ‘Workshop on Investigating and Preventing Abuse of Mobile Financial Services’ was organized for investigating officers of Khulna Metropolitan Police.
Advisor of External and Corporate Affairs Department of bKash and Additional IGP of Bangladesh Police (retired) attended the workshop organized for investigating officers. Md. Najibur Rahman, NDC, PhD; Khulna Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mr. Md. Masudur Rahman Bhuya; Additional Commissioner of Police Sardar Rakibul Islam BPM-Services and EVP of bKash and Head of External Affairs AKM Monirul Karim. 35 investigative officers of Khulna Metropolitan Police participated in this workshop.
On the first day of the two-day workshop, besides making the agents aware of the crimes committed by misusing MFS, detailed guidance was given on various steps taken by bKash. In addition, agents and channel partners are discussed in detail about conducting business in compliance with the rules and assisting local law enforcement agencies with information in identifying criminal gangs. On the second day, the workshop organized with investigation officers of Khulna Metropolitan Police discussed in detail how to use the information obtained about criminal gangs to identify them and bring them to justice.
bKash continues to make every effort to keep its platform safe by strictly complying with all relevant laws. As part of this, bKash proactively monitors all activities of agents through the AML360 app and takes appropriate action in case of any deviation. bKash conducts awareness activities throughout the year to make all concerned including agents aware of these issues. In continuation of that, this workshop was organized for two days in Khulna.
