RAB-3 arrested 20 people on charges of stealing mobile phones in raids in Dhaka and Narayanganj. Meanwhile, 664 mobile phones, 306 mobile batteries and 10 thousand 270 taka in cash were recovered from them.
On Tuesday (December 20) afternoon, RAB-3 captain Lt. Colonel Arif Mohiuddin Ahmed conveyed this information. A joint operation was conducted in Sonargaon of Narayanganj, Mohammadpur, Pallabi and Jatrabari areas of the capital on Monday night.
On Tuesday, RAB-3 Commander Lt. Col. Arif Mohiuddin Ahmed said that the arrested accused had been buying and selling stolen mobile phones in different areas of the country for a long time, avoiding the eyes of the law enforcement agencies. Legal action has been taken against them.
The arrested persons are Abdul Razzak (60), Md. Hadid Iqbal (35), Md. Masud (28), Md. Rashed Dhali (31), Md. Ibrahim (32), Ariful Hossain (19), Zakir Talukder (35), Md. Jewel (30), Md. Russell (29), Md. Nazrul Islam (39), Md. Billal Hossain (30), Md. Ferdous Raihan Sagar (24), Md. Sultan Khan (20), Md. Sabbir (20), Md. Aslam (50), Ujjal (25), Md. Bachchu Dhali (32), Md. Sujan (27), Md. Safiqul Islam (35) and Md. Zaheer (26).
According to RAB, RAB has been monitoring a gang involved in the sale and purchase of stolen mobile phones for a long time. After conducting intelligence activities, this gang was found. On Monday (December 19) night, eighty-six raids were conducted simultaneously in Narayanganj’s Sonargaon, Mohammadpur, Pallabi and Jatrabari in the capital. 20 people were arrested in the operation.
