The Vice-Chancellor of Jashore Science and Technology University (JUST) Professor Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of Nazrul Islam, Deputy Controller of Examinations of the University. He died yesterday, Saturday at 11:30 pm due to brain hemorrhage. Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Raziun.
In a condolence message, Professor Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain said, “Md. Nazrul Islam was one of the first officers appointed in JUST. His contribution was immense in taking the university forward. He initiated the activities of JUST examination control office. His untimely death has cast a shadow of grief among the members of the JUST family. I deeply mourn his death and pray for the salvation of his departed soul. At the same time, I express my deepest condolences to his bereaved family and colleagues.
After hearing the news of Md. Nazrul Islam’s death, many colleagues rushed to his residence in Jashore town at night. JUST teachers and students at different levels, officials and employees have expressed deep grief over his untimely death in various ways including social media. Nazrul Islam was buried at his village in Laskarpur village of Chowagacha upazila of Jashore. Before that, the first Namaj-e Janaza (funeral service) took place after the Fajr Prayer (Morning Prayer) in Jashore city, the second Janaza at the central playground of JUST at 11 am and the third Janaza was held at the end of Zohar Prayer. He joined the office of the Controller of Examinations of the University in 2009. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son and numerous benefactors.
