The Cabinet Committee on Government Procurement has approved 15 procurement proposals at a total cost of Tk. 3837 crore 59 lakh 44 thousand 425.
The proposals were approved in a virtual meeting of the committee held on Wednesday (September 14) chaired by the Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal. Among them there is a project of Information and Communication Technology Division. The committee also approved the proposal to fix service pricing and distribution system at various rates for providing services using the department’s ‘Porichoy‘ platform.
PORICHOY is Bangladesh’s API based real-time Identity Verification Service. Part of Digital Bangladesh vision and developed through the initiative of the ICT Ministry, PORICHOY will evolve to meet the growing need for real-time NID verification and other verification services.
At the end of the meeting, the additional secretary of the cabinet department Md. Abdul Barik said about the project, the committee has approved a proposal regarding the purchase of Porichoy verification infrastructure and services through direct procurement method. The proposal to procure Porichoy verification infrastructure and services from ‘Digicon Global Services Limited’ through direct procurement method was approved in principle at the CCEA meeting held on March 30 this year.
The 20th meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs and the 27th meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Government Procurement was attended by committee members, senior secretaries of cabinet departments, secretaries of relevant ministries and senior officials.
