Martin Cooper, the inventor of the first ‘wireless phone’, commented that to enjoy life you have to reduce the use of mobile phones.
Cooper, 93, told the BBC Breakfast on Thursday that he used his smartphone less than 5% of a day.
Interviewer Jane McCabe asked Martin Cooper what he would say to people like him who use the phone up to five hours a day.
Martin was surprised to hear the amount of time and instantly popped the question, “Do you really spend five hours a day?” Martin, before breaking into laughter, commented, “I would say, Get A Life!”
Martin Cooper, a native of Chicago in the United States, actually paved the way for the smartphone by building the Motorola Dynatac 8000X in the 1970s.
It may be noted that, Martin Cooper first worked for a teletype corporation in 1954 before starting work for Motorola. He first contributed to the invention of a variety of items in portable police radio systems with a firm.
