Describing the police action in SUST as unfortunate, the Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni promised to implement all the demands of the protesters.
She said, “There had been police action here, which was really sad. Many students were injured. On the eighth day of the hunger strike, the students broke their fast this morning. I thank them for this. We will solve the problems that have caused the students to protest. We want to solve all the problems.”
She told an emergency press conference at her official residence on Wednesday that the movement of students at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology was logical. We talked to the agitating students. We will meet all their demands. Whoever are the culprits, action will be taken against them.
Earlier, the Education Minister had a meeting with the hunger strikers and agitators through Professor Muhammad Zafar Iqbal. However, it was not immediately clear whether the vice-chancellor would be removed or not.
Regarding the resignation of the Vice-Chancellor, the Education Minister said, “Whether there will be a Vice-Chancellor or not will not solve the problem. There will always be a vice chancellor. We will solve all the problems of SUST students. The resignation of the vice-chancellor is another process.
