The minister made the call in a keynote address at the closing ceremony of the Fast Virtual International Conference organized by the Society of Gynecologists Endometriosis Adenomyosis Society of Bangladesh (EASB) on Saturday night.
The Minister said that the Institute of Ophthalmology has successfully launched and operated medical centers in 70 upazilas of the country using digital technology through internet and said, “We have expanded telemedicine services in the country with 4G technology.” 5G technology will bring unimaginable changes in the field of medicine, said the pioneer of the development of digital technology in the country.
Emphasizing the need for widespread awareness of some of the problems of adolescents and the diseases arising from adolescence, Mustafa Jabbar, a pioneer of digital transformation in education, said women’s participation in education has increased under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. It would be a good thing if we could make the primary teachers aware about this. The origin of many complex diseases will be hindered.
The Minister also stressed on the need to use digital media as well as TV channels for awareness. The Minister expressed his strong interest in providing all possible assistance in this regard. He thanked the organizers for organizing such an international conference. He said, “It is our responsibility to ensure the safe health for all citizens, including the mothers of the state of Bangladesh established by Bangabandhu.”
National Professor Prof. Saleha Begum Chowdhury presented the keynote address at the function which was presided over by EASB President Prof. Shamela Chowdhury. Officers of the organization Prof. Shahanara Chowdhury, Prof. MA Taher and Prof. Malayakanti Chakraborty spoke on the occasion.
The speakers emphasized on the need to create public awareness about maternal health, especially among the disadvantaged women in remote areas and to ensure their well-being.
