The two-year investigation reports found that “Google has reduced the capacity and motivation of device manufacturers to create and sell devices running alternative versions of Android.” The agency has been investigating the matter for the last two years”.
During the investigation, Google came across at least 24 issues. There, Google defended itself and claimed that it did not harm the competition. The investigation also found that 62 companies, including large technology companies such as Microsoft, Amazon, Apple, Samsung and Xiaomi, answered CCI’s questions.
According to Google, the company has not yet received the investigation report. But to explain how Android has led to more competition and innovation; they are keen to work with CCI.
It is learned that Google will be given another chance to defend itself before the final report is submitted. Google will also have the opportunity to appeal to the court.
