The ICT Department will set up Sheikh Russel Digital Labs in 32 educational institutions of USEP Bangladesh to build technically skilled manpower.
State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak made the declaration while addressing a virtual remembrance meeting on the occasion of National Mourning Day on Sunday, August 22.
USEP Bangladesh Chairman Parveen Mahmud emphasized good education in her welcome address. She said that USEP Bangladesh is working to build work-oriented manpower from the house allotted by Bangabandhu.
In his speech, Md. Abdul Karim, Executive Director of USEP Bangladesh, recalled Bangabandhu’s pioneering role in vocational and technical education.
Dwipendra Lal Bhowmik, Associate Member, USEP Bangladesh, Abdul Matin Chowdhury, Scientist and Educator, and KM Tariqul Islam, Director General, Bureau of NGO Affairs were also present in the occasion.
Zunaid Ahmed Palak, the State Minister for ICT, highlighted Bangabandhu’s contribution in involving Bangladesh in technology in his keynote address.
The Minister of State for Information and Communication Technology promised that the ICT department would be by their side like Bangabandhu to build technically skilled manpower for USEP Bangladesh.
He said, “We would like to assure you on behalf of the Department of Information and Communication Technology that the Department of Information and Communication Technology will provide comprehensive services to provide technology based training to build a skilled manpower.”
The virtual mourning and prayers began with a poem by Nirmalendu Gun, written in honor of Bangabandhu. An audio visual of an animated film about Bangabandhu is displayed. Songs dedicated to Bangabandhu were also performed at the commemoration.
