Junaid Ahmed Palak, State Minister for Information and Communication Technology, called upon young entrepreneurs to build a digital economy by harnessing the talents of the youth and the benefits of technology.
He was speaking online as the chief guest at the inauguration of the ‘Sujog’ platform of iSocial (Infolady Social Enterprise Limited) on Saturday.
The State Minister further said that the Home Grown Solution initiative will create an important contribution in building the digital economy of Bangladesh by harnessing the energy of the youth and creating new employment opportunities.
Mentioning intellectual property as the biggest asset, the state minister said Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Centers are being set up in 64 districts of the country. Through this, SSC and HSC pass students will get the opportunity to create new employment as entrepreneurs by taking training and using their talents.
Noting that the ICT department has always believed in partnership, he said, “We want to make new initiatives successful on the basis of private-public partnership. Many big initiatives can be made successful through the right combination of government, industry and academia,” he added.
Ananya Raihan, CEO of iSocial described the goals and objectives of the ‘Sujog’ Platform.
Aftabul Islam, Director, Bangladesh Bank, Arfan Ali Managing Director, Bank Asia and Dr. Nazneen Ahmed, Senior Research Fellow, BIDS also spoke on the occasion.
