The ICT department has taken initiative to register marriage and divorce online. For this, an application called ‘Bandhan’ is going to be created. Besides, the digital signature database ‘Signature’ is being prepared for digital signature verification.
Although the ICT tower in Agargaon has been closed since the beginning of the ongoing lockdown the pace of work has not been stopped at all. All activities are going on in the home office. State Minister for ICT Junaid Ahmed Palak is overseeing the day-to-day activities of the video conferencing platform meeting.
As part of this regular activity, he exchanged views with programmers from the Department of Information and Communication Technology on April 18.
The meeting also discussed the development of making the Covid 19 vaccine management system more effective. Concerned programmers also briefed the state minister on ICT about immigration database and online VAT collector applications.
The state minister of ICT was informed about the features of ‘Bondhan’ application as a digital solution to the ‘marriage’ issues discussed at the meeting. This application has features to identify underage marriages, marriage fraud, the obligation to obtain prior permission in case of multiple marriages and to determine the identity of the Quazi. And everything can be done on mobile with ‘OTP’, NID, fingerprint and facial verification facility.
The app is still in its infancy. In a day or two, the proposal along with the demo of the app will be sent to the concerned ministry, said the State Minister for ICT Junaid Ahmed Palak to DG Bangla.
