WhatsApp has introduced passkey feature for the security of users’ information. The new system requires face, fingerprint or PIN number to be used to access certain accounts. As a result, no one other than the specific person will be able to know the information contained in the WhatsApp account. News Times of India.
For several months now, WhatsApp has been testing the effectiveness of the passkey system on its Android beta users. Initially, the passkey method was introduced for a limited number of users, but in the next few weeks, all devices running on the Android operating system will get the opportunity to use this method.
WhatsApp authorities have not given any information about when this method will be launched for the iOS operating system.
Passkey method can only be used in the latest version of WhatsApp. When this new method is launched, users will see a new option called ‘Passkey’ in the settings section of WhatsApp on their devices. After completing the fingerprint or other identification process as per the instructions, the passkey system will be activated.
