Soft Skill Development Cell of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University, Bangladesh was inaugurated and certificates were awarded on Tuesday (October 17, 2023).
While speaking as the chief guest at the event, Professor Dr. Md. Sajjad Hossain, a member of the Bangladesh University Grants Commission said, “There is no alternative to acquiring skills to develop into a skilled human resource in the construction of Smart Bangladesh”.
He said, students should always be involved in research and innovation to be responsible towards our resources, society as a whole. He said that the way this university is moving forward through new technologies, we should be involved with pride.
While speaking as the president of the event, the BDU Vice chancellor Professor Muhammad Mahfuzul Islam said, the title of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University, Bangladesh is stated in the title of the law to speed up the implementation of Digital Bangladesh, and this university has been established for the creation of skilled manpower, related research and innovation.
He said, Digital Bangladesh has been implemented; Smart Bangladesh is now in front of us. This Smart Bangladesh is just a transformation of Digital Bangladesh. Now Smart Citizens are needed to implement Smart Bangladesh. I believe that our university will not only produce smart citizens, but our university will play a leading role in producing smart citizens and we are moving towards that goal.
Director of Information Management, Communication and Training Department of Bangladesh University Grants Commission Dr. Md. Sultan Mahmud Bhuiyan spoke as a special guest at the event while the Senior program manager of Wadani Foundation, Antanul Kabir, spoke as the main speaker in the event. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University of Bangladesh, Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain delivered the welcome speech.
Assistant Professor and Chairman of Education Technology Department of the University Md. Ashrafuzzaman, Assistant Professor and Chairman of IoT and Robotics Engineering Department Samsuddin Ahmed, Director of Soft Skill Development Cell (temporary duty) Syeda Zakia Naeem, Students of Education Technology Department Fatema Tuz Zohra Meem and Abrar Hossain Sifat also spoke among others.
Before this, UGC member Professor Dr. Md. Sajjad Hossain gave certificates of three-day D-document training to BDU officials organized by Bangladesh University Grants Commission in the meeting room of the Administrative Building of the university.
