Dhaka Customs House has issued an order to use walkie-talkies instead of mobile phones to provide uninterrupted passenger service to the customs officials working at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
This order has been approved under the instructions signed by Minhaj Uddin, Joint Commissioner of Dhaka Custom House on Monday (September 11).
According to the office order, officers and employees working in different shifts of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport are excessively using mobile phones while performing their duties. As a result, there is a disruption in the service of the passengers arriving at the airport and the loss of official order. In order to provide uninterrupted service to the passengers in such a situation, the officials working in different shifts have been asked to use official walkie-talkies instead of mobile phones as a means of communication.
The order further states that only the officer in charge of shift and protocol will be allowed to use their official mobile phones. However, the responsible officers and employees can contact the official mobile phone of the shift in-charge in case of urgent need. This order will be effective immediately.
